GenAI's ByteAd Head Yuan Zehuan Resigns, Embarks on Entrepreneurial Journey Focused on World Modeling

According to DongCha Beating monitoring, Yuan Zehuan, ByteDance's GenAI China Commercialization Lead and former AI Lab Technical Lead, has resigned to start his own business. The new project is targeting world models, focusing on the research and development of foundational models for Physical AI scenarios such as robotics.

Yuan Zehuan joined ByteDance in 2017 and has been actively involved in computer vision and generative model research. He has contributed to projects such as ByteTrack, LlamaGen, VAR, and Waver.

In particular, VAR generates images from low to high resolution and won the Best Paper Award at NeurIPS 2024. Yuan Zehuan is one of the corresponding authors of the paper.
