Kimi K3 Officially Open Source

According to Dynamic Insight monitoring, the Dark Side of the Moon has officially open-sourced the Kimi K3 model weights and adopted a custom Kimi K3 License agreement, allowing for research, deployment, fine-tuning, and secondary development. Developers can now download the model from Hugging Face for self-deployment, fine-tuning, and testing.

First-day access around K3 has already begun. Modal, Together AI, Nebius, GMI Cloud, Baseten, and Fireworks AI have all announced plans to provide hosting or inference services on the day of the weight release.

The two major open-source inference frameworks, vLLM and SGLang, have also offered first-day support. Developers can directly deploy the weights without waiting for framework adaptation. Subsequent optimizations will focus on improving the runtime efficiency of long contexts, high throughput, and KDA linear attention.
