According to TrendForce's Beating Estimates, Amazon released its Q2 2026 earnings report. The quarterly revenue reached $200.6 billion, a 20% year-over-year growth, with an operating profit of $27.5 billion, a 43% year-over-year increase. The revenue exceeded market expectations.

AWS revenue reached $42.2 billion, a 37% year-over-year growth, marking the fastest growth rate in 18 quarters. The market previously estimated a growth of around 31%. AWS operating profit increased by 64% to $16.6 billion.

Amazon's net income rose to $62.6 billion, but this includes $53.4 billion in pre-tax investment income, primarily from the appreciation of Anthropic shares.

Amazon also raised its capital expenditure plan for the year from $200 billion to $220 billion. The trailing twelve-month free cash flow decreased from a positive $18.2 billion to a negative $7.6 billion, mainly due to increased investment in AI-related equipment. Following the earnings release, Amazon's stock price surged nearly 9% in after-hours trading.
