August 3rd, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently stated that a "cool application scenario" of ChatGPT is to help families manage information, such as connecting family calendars, understanding children's interests, and generating a daily AI podcast about children's activities for parents to listen to on the way to pick up.

Altman stated on social platform X that AI can organize the child's day's soccer match, upcoming birthdays, relevant news, and generate personalized audio programs. However, this view has sparked a lot of controversy, with some netizens criticizing that "using AI to replace real interpersonal connections is the worst possible scenario."

Meanwhile, AI companies are accelerating their exploration of the home management market. There are already multiple AI home assistant products that can integrate email, calendars, and task lists to help parents manage schedules, remind them of birthdays, track bills, and family affairs.

Investment institutions are also optimistic about the commercial potential of AI in the home scenario. Relevant analysis points out that about 85 million mothers in the United States control approximately $2.4 trillion in annual consumer spending. If AI can truly reduce the burden of home management, it will have a huge market space.

Market research estimates that the market size of AI in childcare and parenting may reach nearly $42 billion by 2035. However, how AI will intervene in family relationships and whether it will weaken real interactions between people remains a controversial focus in the industry.
