Musk: Starlink Could Eventually Carry Over 50% of Internet Traffic, Generating Annual Revenue of Over $1 Trillion
August 9th. Silicon Valley investor and co-host of the "All-In Podcast" David Friedberg stated that Starlink's standalone business's annual revenue could reach around $40 billion, with most of it convertible to free cash flow. Within one year, free cash flow could reach $30 billion, and Starlink's market value could reach $1 trillion within 18 months.
Musk responded by saying that Starlink's potential is "far beyond this." With the development of AI and robotics, the bandwidth demand will significantly increase, with its data transfer needs orders of magnitude higher than that of humans. Even if the communication market size only doubles, he expects Starlink's market share outside of China to be at least 25%, corresponding to annual revenue exceeding $500 billion. In the long term, the internet traffic carried by Starlink could exceed 50%, with annual revenue surpassing $1 trillion, and there are currently no apparent obstacles to achieving this outcome.
