Former Devin Core Developer Raises $60 Million: AI Can Modify Processes on Its Own and Simulate Trial and Error First

Oct 9, 15:07

Beating AI News Flash: Enterprise AI startup Hone has officially launched Engines and completed a $60 million seed funding round, led by Benchmark and Index Ventures. Engines can take long-term responsibility for business goals set by enterprises, such as improving sales conversion rates and reducing procurement costs.

After enterprises set goals, Engine will understand internal systems, historical data, and workflows, independently create the required Agents and tools, and then collaborate with employees to complete the work. It will also continuously adjust based on feedback, without the need for manual repeated task assignments.

Engine can modify its own tools, code, and memory, but changes must first pass simulation testing before going live. The system will simulate colleague replies and changes in business systems, rerunning weeks of work in minutes to check whether originally functioning features have been broken. Hone claims that across 125 internal test scenarios, the proportion of issues caused by modifications dropped from 33% to 5%.

Hone founder Moritz Stephan previously participated in developing the core planning and execution system of Devin. Cognition and AI inference platform Modal have become its early customers.
