Rome plans to launch its token ROME, having completed $9 million in financing.

Oct 13, 11:22

October 13: Rome, a cross-chain interoperability protocol built on Solana, has announced plans to launch its token ROME. In the future, users trading on Rome's own chain will need to hold ROME to pay for Gas fees. Additionally, the protocol will charge a small fee for each transaction on every chain it powers, with half of the revenue retained in ROME or used to buy ROME on the open market, entering a reserve that will not be sold.

This reserve will grow with activity across all Rome-powered chains, including those using their own Gas tokens. The token launch date is currently undetermined. As of now, Rome has completed $9 million in funding, with participation from Portal Ventures, Hack VC, HashKey, Anagram, Robot Ventures, and others.
