IoTeX mainnet completes Zanzibar hard fork, staking rewards switched to direct on-chain distribution

October 19: IoTeX, the DePIN + AI open ecosystem platform, announced that its Zanzibar hard fork has gone live on the mainnet. According to the IIP-59 proposal, voter staking rewards are now calculated and distributed directly on-chain by the protocol in each reward cycle, without the need for off-chain services or intermediaries, and anyone can verify each payment directly on-chain. The first on-chain distribution will take place tomorrow. Zanzibar also strengthens the consensus mechanism through proof-of-possession checks for delegated keys, preparing for subsequent BLS signature aggregation.
