October 21: The Solana development team Anza announced that its new consensus protocol Alpenglow has been launched on the Solana mainnet (mainnet-beta), reducing transaction finality time from 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. The Alpenglow genesis block has been generated, and the original consensus mechanism TowerBFT has officially retired.
