Beating AI News Flash: After Moonshot AI released Kimi K3.1 Pro, a document suspected to be official promotional material was leaked.

Screenshots publicly shared by X blogger Elshayib show that creators participating in the promotion must submit their copy in advance and could only publish after approval. However, the document also explicitly requires "do not add paid partnership labels," and does not even require attaching the official Kimi website link or tagging the official account.

Under X's rules, brand collaborations involving compensation or other exchanges of benefits must disclose the paid relationship. The U.S. FTC also requires creators to disclose commercial partnerships to their audiences.

The document also provides multiple sets of promotional talking points, including "Kimi is an open-source version of Opus 5.5 that is 5 times cheaper," "China lets everyone use Opus 5.5 for free," and "the gap between Chinese open-source models and American frontier models has narrowed to one month."

Elshayib said he refused to promote according to the template and also criticized a creator who used these talking points. Subsequently, someone sent him a private message requesting that he delete the related comments on the grounds that "this could ruin this launch."
