October 27 - Asset management giant Vanguard, which manages approximately $13 trillion in assets, recently invested about $7.5 million in Japanese Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet through its VSS ETF, thereby gaining indirect Bitcoin exposure.
The fund disclosed that this is its first position in Metaplanet, with 4.5 million shares held. Metaplanet is a Japanese listed company that has drawn market attention for its strategy of accumulating Bitcoin as a corporate treasury reserve. This disclosure means that a traditional large asset manager has entered the Japanese Bitcoin treasury concept stock through ETF channels, further expanding institutional exposure to crypto-related equities.
