Polygon Expands Its Stablecoin Payment Infrastructure to Solana

Oct 29, 21:02

October 29 — Polygon Labs announced it has integrated Solana into its Open Money Stack payment platform, enabling enterprises to complete bank acceptance, cross-chain fund transfers, and payouts to recipients through a single integration. The first batch of clients includes payment service provider Kira, whose CEO stated that it has been using Solana to transfer stablecoins, and after partnering with Polygon, it can convert funds into USD and deposit them into client bank accounts for paying suppliers. The stack also connects Polygon, Ethereum, and TRON, which was integrated earlier this month.

The integration coincides with Solana completing its Alpenglow consensus upgrade last week, reducing transaction finality time from approximately 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds. Solana Foundation's product lead stated that the network has processed over $5.5 trillion in stablecoin transaction volume in 2026. Earlier this month, Polygon also completed its acquisition of Coinme, obtaining money transmission licenses and exemptions covering 48 U.S. states.
