Binance hacked address has revoked EIP-7702 authorization.
October 30 - According to on-chain data, Binance 14, one of Binance's compromised hot wallets, revoked the 7702 authorization at 8:10 Beijing time today.
It is reported that this Binance incident involves the EIP-7702 authorization mechanism. After signing such authorization, the wallet will be taken over by a specific program until the authorization is revoked.
This attack exploited this feature: the attacker managed to make Binance's hot wallet sign an EIP-7702 authorization, delegating control of the wallet to a malicious "Sweeper" contract pre-deployed by the attacker. Once the authorization took effect, this malicious contract gained permission to operate the wallet and could automatically transfer assets in batches, without requiring additional signatures from the wallet owner throughout the process.
