November 3 - According to KCNA, North Korea, in a statement , also mentioned that last year the United States had linked North Korea to a hacking incident at cryptocurrency exchange Bybit. The U.S. misleads international public opinion to create the false impression that cyber fraud incidents around the world are all perpetrated by North Korea, which is a serious political provocation against North Korea. North Korea firmly opposes any attempt to politicize cyber issues as a means of interfering in other countries' internal affairs, and this is the consistent policy position of the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The international community needs to once again reflect on the fact that last year, as soon as the current U.S. administration took office, it announced the confiscation of illegally stolen cryptocurrency assets to serve as a national strategic reserve. Imagine once the massive stolen cryptocurrency funds are recovered, whose pockets they will fall into—perhaps clues behind this hacking incident can be found.

On February 21, 2025, Bybit suffered a large-scale theft incident, with total value of approximately $1.5 billion. The U.S. FBI and multiple on-chain analysis firms subsequently attributed the incident to North Korea's Lazarus Group (TraderTraitor).
