November 6 - According to South China Morning Post, Joseph Chee, Chairman and CEO of Nasdaq-listed Solana treasury company Solana Company, stated that the company plans to expand its Hong Kong operations to capture the growing local demand for tokenization, with the Hong Kong team set to grow from fewer than 10 people currently to up to 30.

Joseph Chee noted that the U.S. is progressing "much faster" in tokenization, while many large financial institutions in Hong Kong have only just begun considering or launching tokenization projects. The company expects to form a judgment on the Hong Kong market within about six months; if no large tokenization service providers have emerged in Hong Kong by then, the company may build its own team to meet local banking needs.

Solana Company was listed last month by the Hong Kong SAR government's Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises as a "strategic enterprise," with its Hong Kong operations also serving as its new Asia-Pacific headquarters, positioned as a digital asset infrastructure and service provider.
