Anthropic Publishes Early Results on Claude Accelerating Drug Discovery

Oct 28, 04:57

October 28: According to Anthropic's official blog, over the past few months its scientists have carried out in-depth research collaborations with six drug R&D organizations — BigHat Biosciences, Bristol Myers Squibb, Divergence Labs, Enveda, Generate Biomedicines and The Column Group — and have also launched drug discovery work of its own.

Among them, six scientists at Generate Biomedicines used Claude Code to propose new designs for some of the genetic instructions in CAR-T cell therapy. One design is about 70% shorter than the standard version and, in laboratory tests, enabled immune cells to produce about 10 times as many receptors, killing tumor cells more efficiently. Anthropic said it plans to substantially expand this work on that basis.
