Euronext Suspends CoinShares' Zcash ETP, Citing Unsupported Settlement Operations
October 29 – According to Cryptopolitan, Euronext suspended CoinShares' Zcash ETP from its Paris market just hours after launch, citing the central securities depository's inability to support the related settlement operations. The suspension keeps CoinShares out of Zcash ETP trading, while products from 21Shares, Virtune and Valor continue to trade on European markets. A Euronext spokesperson said the suspension is not related to regulation but is a settlement infrastructure issue, and the ETP will remain frozen until the central securities depository can fully support standard settlement operations.
The EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation will fully take effect on July 1, 2027, prohibiting licensed crypto companies from handling privacy coins such as Zcash and from interacting with anonymous wallets. Currently, 21Shares, Virtune and Valor already offer Zcash ETPs in Europe; in the US, Grayscale's Zcash fund held about $686 million in assets as of late October.
