Oct. 29: Citing local media, The Block reported that South Korea's ruling Democratic Party will meet Friday with representatives of the country's five major crypto exchanges — Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit and Gopax — to discuss whether to postpone the crypto tax originally set to take effect in January 2027. The party has proposed a bill to push the implementation to 2029, citing insufficient infrastructure and difficulties in obtaining transaction data.
