SlowMist CISO Advises Investigating Binance Hack by Focusing on Private Key Leak Path and Anomalous Withdrawal Tools

Oct 30, 09:38

October 30: SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer 23pds posted: "Regarding Binance's one-time asset theft incident this time, combined with historical forensic experience, the fact that the attacker was able to bypass the risk control system means it still requires key confirmation whether the intrusion path was a private key leak or a compromised signing machine. I personally lean more toward the private key leak hypothesis. In addition, the attacker most likely used a customized withdrawal tool. I suggest that the security department, when conducting traceability forensics, focus on in-depth investigation around the private key leak path and the characteristics of anomalous withdrawal tools."
