Grayscale: AI-related crypto asset sector rose 54% in September, with gains more than double those of the broader crypto market.
On October 6, citing Crowdfund Insider, that Zach Pandl, Head of Research at Grayscale, noted in his latest report that in September 2026, the AI-related crypto asset sector surged 54%, significantly outperforming the broader crypto market's 24% gain during the same period, making it the top performer among the six segments defined by Grayscale.
Specifically, NEAR led with a 183% gain, while Venice (VVV) rose 70%, World (WLD) gained 47%, and Bittensor (TAO) advanced 37%.
Despite its strong performance, the AI crypto asset segment remains the smallest of Grayscale’s six categories, with a total market capitalization of approximately $15 billion. Grayscale notes that as applications such as AI agent payments, identity verification, privacy computing, and verifiable record-keeping expand, blockchain is expected to become critical infrastructure for the AI economy, although whether these tokens can sustainably capture value from practical use cases remains to be validated.
