Ethereum proposes the EIP-8440 execution chain proof proposal, supporting constant-time chain synchronization.
On October 9, Ethereum contributor Francesco Risitano (@frisitano) submitted the EIP-8440 (Execution Chain Proof) draft proposal. The proposal utilizes a recursive zero-knowledge proof mechanism to verify the validity of all execution payloads from the tip beacon block to the genesis beacon block, anchoring them to the beacon chain. Nodes can establish full execution validity from a weak subjectivity checkpoint to the latest block header via a single proof, enabling constant-time chain synchronization.
