The U.S. cash bond market will be closed next Monday, while U.S. stocks and Treasury futures will trade under their regular schedule.

Oct 9, 16:43

On October 9, the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) holiday schedule indicates that the US cash bond market will be closed next Monday (October 12). October 12 is Columbus Day, one of the US federal holidays, though holiday observances vary by region. For financial markets, the US stock market will open normally and CME US Treasury futures will trade as usual, but the US cash bond market will be closed for the full day.

US cash bonds and Treasury futures are not the same type of trading instrument: cash bonds refer to physically issued US Treasuries, corporate bonds, commercial paper, etc., while Treasury futures are standardized futures contracts with US Treasuries as the underlying asset. (Jin10)
