Polkadot DOT DAO Strategic Authorization Proposal Goes Live for Referendum, Focusing on User Growth and Stablecoin Infrastructure
On October 12, according to the Polkadot OpenGov governance platform, the DOT DAO Strategic Authorization Proposal (Referenda #1954), initiated by the PCF (Polkadot Community Foundation), is currently undergoing voting in the Wish For Change track. With approximately 2 days and 22 hours remaining until timeout, it currently records 100% approval votes, with a support rate of 0.00%, and has not yet reached the passing threshold.
The core content of the proposal covers six key areas:
- Strategic Priorities: Place user acquisition above KPIs such as ecosystem scale and TVL, shifting the competitive benchmark from smart contract platforms to Web2/mobile;
- Economic Infrastructure: Launch the DOT-collateralized stablecoin dotStables (such as dotUSD), designed based on the Liquity model to convert user demand into tangible DOT demand;
- User Acquisition Mechanisms: Build a full-stack Polkadot product platform compatible with existing parachain infrastructure, ensuring incentives are distributed directly to on-chain individual users rather than third-party institutions;
- User Experience Standards: Benchmark against Web2, supporting a Freemium free tier, human-readable names, and mobile-first approaches, utilizing the zk cryptographic identity system "Individuality" to provide free quotas;
- Web3 Integrity: Simultaneously ensure self-sovereignty, privacy protection, and zero-login requirements, with privacy disclosure levels determined autonomously by users;
- Execution & Resources: Mandate cooperation from funded entities such as Fellowship for execution, emphasizing modular code architecture and LLM tools to lower maintenance costs.
