Singapore Crypto Fraud Losses Drop 43% Year-on-Year as Coinbase Partners with Anti-Fraud Center to Intercept Over SGD 18.9 Million
On October 13, according to Coinbase’s official blog, a briefing on scams and cybercrime for the first half of 2026 released by Singapore’s Anti-Scam Centre (ASC) showed that cryptocurrency fraud losses in Singapore dropped 43% year-on-year, falling from SGD 114.9 million to SGD 65.5 million. ASC credited this result partly to crackdown actions by industry partners, including shutting down 47,500 mobile lines, 37,500 WhatsApp accounts, and 52,200 malicious websites, as well as investigating over 2,900 money mules and scammers, and prosecuting approximately 470 individuals.
Through four joint operations with ASC, Coinbase’s Global Intelligence Team identified more than 720 potential victims and helped block over SGD 18.9 million in potential losses.
