Suspects in Multiple French Cryptocurrency Holder Kidnappings Shot Dead After Release
On October 14, Cryptoast reported that a suspect named F. A., alleged to have been involved in multiple cases of kidnapping and violent assaults against cryptocurrency holders, was shot dead inside a vehicle at a parking lot in Nîmes, France on October 11.
The 47-year-old suspect reportedly has 14 prior convictions involving drugs, violent assaults, and illegal detention. He was prosecuted in 2024 on suspicion of theft, kidnapping, organized crime membership, and torture, following an incident where a Dubai resident was lured to Paris and robbed of €130,000 and luxury watches. The suspect had previously been released from custody due to procedural flaws. Local prosecutors are currently investigating the case as a suspected gangland hit, and those responsible remain at large.
