Ethereum Foundation former co-executive director: Ethereum will evolve into an adaptive system beyond human governance capabilities.

Oct 14, 16:27

On October 14, Tomasz K. Stańczak (@tkstanczak), former co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, stated that the pace of future changes to Ethereum will exceed human governance capacity, and blockchains will begin to operate like adaptive systems, with their hierarchical structures jointly determined by the signal value of specific regions and infrastructure forms.

This perspective stems from a reference to an Anthropic engineering blog post, which revealed that its internal code merge volume surged from approximately 2,500 per day in May to over 30,000 per day in September this year. Its existing development infrastructure, designed for human-scale workflows, has become a bottleneck, prompting a shift toward building an internal source control system tailored to AI Agent scales. Stańczak argues that this explosive growth in AI-driven development velocity will likewise unfold within the Ethereum ecosystem.
