Oct 21, 20:54

On October 21, according to an announcement by Noah, Western Union has selected it as a global stablecoin payment infrastructure provider, supplying the underlying on-chain banking network for its Receiver Redirect service. The solution supports more than 60 currencies and spans over 200 countries and regions.

Built on Western Union’s U.S. dollar stablecoin USDPT, which is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank on Solana, the service utilizes Noah’s infrastructure for top-ups, conversions, and payouts. Users can send funds through Western Union’s global network of over 500,000 agent locations, while recipients can deposit USDPT directly into their Western Union wallets and store the associated stablecoin assets via Stablecard.

Western Union stated that the new service aims to cut the time and cost of cross-border remittances while linking its global remittance network with the digital asset ecosystem.
