On October 28, according to Sequoia Peak, Sequoia China and Unitree Robotics announced the joint launch of the "Shanyu Innovation Initiative," focusing on identifying and investing in early-stage startup projects in fields such as embodied AI, robotics applications, key upstream and downstream technologies, and other frontier hard tech sectors, with a particular emphasis on young entrepreneurial teams. The program will adopt an "engineer + investor" investment methodology: Unitree will provide cutting-edge technological insights and engineering guidance, while Sequoia China will offer capital backing and post-investment support, helping teams evolve from an initial idea, a snippet of code, or a prototype into scalable products. Its core strategy is "understand technology and industry, spot early, decide quickly, prioritize people, and avoid meddling."
