Swan founder: AI poses a greater near-term threat to Bitcoin security than quantum computing.

Nov 3, 06:04

On November 3, according to Cointelegraph, Swan Bitcoin founder Cory Klippsten stated in an interview that the near-term threat posed by artificial intelligence to bitcoin security is greater than that of quantum computing, as hackers are using large language models to probe for security vulnerabilities.

Klippsten anticipates that quantum computers capable of threatening bitcoin cryptography will take at least another 10 years, or even longer, to emerge. He believes that if the threat becomes credible, the bitcoin network can adopt post-quantum protection measures, but implementing them hastily now would increase unnecessary complexity.
