South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance Hosts Semiconductor Expert Symposium: AI Demand Shows No Signs of Contraction, Medium-to-Long-Term Growth Remains Intact

Nov 6, 14:55

On November 06, according to Yonhap News Agency, amid heightened concerns over AI data center regulation causing stock market turbulence in the wake of the US midterm elections, South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance held discussions with semiconductor experts to examine industry developments and future demand prospects. A comprehensive assessment by attendees concluded that, factoring in the progress and upcoming plans of major AI corporations' massive investments, as well as the expansion of semiconductor demand driven by the widespread adoption of agentic AI, the medium-to-long-term growth outlook for the AI and semiconductor sectors remains valid.

They assessed that despite some anxieties in financial markets, no clear signals have been observed that would trigger a decline in AI investment or semiconductor demand. Additionally, considering factors such as the expansion of long-term supply contracts by domestic semiconductor companies, demand fundamentals are projected to remain stable in the short term. (Jin10)
