Crypto Payment Platform Gnosis Pay Experiences Data Breach in Consumer Card System
On November 6, according to an official announcement from Gnosis Pay, its monitoring system detected unauthorized access to the system supporting Gnosis Pay-branded consumer cards on November 3, resulting in a partial leak of customer information. The company stated that user funds were unaffected, and the corporate platform supporting the white-label card program was also unaffected.
Two hours after discovering the issue, the security team implemented containment measures, replaced compromised security credentials, and patched the vulnerability. Gnosis Pay has emailed all affected customers, enhanced monitoring of card and wallet activity, and mandated 3D Secure verification for all online card payments. This consumer card system was originally scheduled to be decommissioned on December 20.
