On May 22, 2010, crypto pioneer Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas with 10,000 BTC. This was not only the first physical transaction in the history of cryptocurrency, but also the first time that BTC demonstrated its currency attributes. Now, fourteen years have passed, and the cryptocurrency industry is maturing.
In order to pay tribute to early crypto pioneers such as Laszlo Hanyecz, and to convey their courageous, adventurous, and pioneering spirit to every corner of the world. OKX Web3, a long-term builder in the crypto industry, created a unique [Bitcoin Time Museum] on the streets of Taipei during the 2024 BTC Pizza Festival, attracting tens of thousands of people to travel through time and space and look back at the history of Bitcoin development.

During the event, more than a thousand people came to the Time Museum to check in, take photos, and party together. They also won OKX Web3 customized pizza, beer, and peripherals by participating in fun games. In addition, Professor Liao Shiwei of Computer Science at National Taiwan University, Saint Stone, a well-known crypto KOL in Taipei, Li Tingting, a computer science girl, and Zijun, the founder of DA Studio, also came to the scene to check in and take pictures.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that OKX Web3 also launched a "Pizza Day Street Challenge", taking to the streets on Pizza Day, using a seemingly "ordinary" card to surprise those who dare to try new things boldly, aiming to pay tribute to the innovators of the encryption industry such as Laszlo Hanyecz, and the pioneers who bravely pioneered, in order to convey the encryption spirit of the brave people to enjoy the world first.

Looking back on the history of Bitcoin development, we can't help but sigh at the power of creation and innovation.
In November 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published a paper on the mailing list of a cryptography website, describing Bitcoin, an electronic cash system, for the first time. On January 3, 2009, Nakamoto successfully mined the first block of Bitcoin, the Genesis Block, on a small server in Helsinki, Finland, and was awarded the first 50 Bitcoins as a mining reward.
As time went on, Bitcoin gradually attracted more attention. On January 23, 2010, Sabunir, a user of the BitcoinTalk forum, posted an interesting topic on the forum: "Newbie's test - does anyone want to buy a picture for $1?" He asked if anyone was willing to buy a wallpaper with a resolution of 1280x960 with $1 of Bitcoin and left his wallet address. Just one month later, the 50 Bitcoins were sent to his address, becoming the first public Bitcoin real-world transaction.
On May 22 of the same year, Bitcoin ushered in another milestone event. Crypto pioneer Laszlo Hanyecz used 10,000 Bitcoins to buy 2 pizzas, which was the first public Bitcoin transaction to purchase physical items. This event not only proved the practicality of Bitcoin in real life, but of course, this is the source of the industry's annual pizza festival.
As time went on, Bitcoin's influence continued to expand. On January 14, 2012, Bitcoin first appeared in the American TV series "The Queen of Court", further increasing its popularity among the public. Since then, the price of Bitcoin has continued to rise. In March 2017, the price of one Bitcoin exceeded the price of one ounce of gold for the first time. On November 28 of the same year, the trading price of Bitcoin broke through the $10,000 mark for the first time.
On May 12, 2020, the 630,000th block was mined, and the block reward of Bitcoin dropped from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC, which was the third halving in the history of Bitcoin. This event marked the increase in the difficulty of Bitcoin mining and the reduction in rewards, but it also promoted the security and stability of the Bitcoin network.
In recent years, Bitcoin has been increasingly accepted around the world. Especially this year, on January 10, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the Bitcoin spot ETF for the first time, which marked the official entry of Bitcoin into the mainstream financial market, and also meant that the crypto market with Bitcoin as the core ushered in structural changes.
As an early builder of the industry, OKX Web3 has been committed to the construction of the Bitcoin ecosystem while paying tribute to the pioneers of the industry.
So far, the OKX Web3 wallet has launched the Ordinals, Atomicals and Runes markets, helping users to experience the latest developments in the Bitcoin ecosystem at the first time, while providing users with a one-stop entry for Bitcoin ecosystem exploration experience. In addition, with the continuous development of the Bitcoin ecosystem, the OKX Web3 team has also built around the Bitcoin ecosystem from wallet tools, browsers, trading markets, protocol standards, cross-chain bridges, Bitcoin Layer2 and other aspects. In the future, OKX Web3 will adhere to the spirit of innovation and embark on a new journey with the crypto industry.
