Rumor has it that DeepSeek Harness will kick off its alpha testing this week, aiming to rival Claude Code.

Jul 28, 18:04

July 28th, according to Max For AI's revelation, the DeepSeek version of Claude Code, named "Harness," is about to start internal testing. The leaked screenshot circulating in the community shows that the DeepSeek Harness is scheduled to start internal testing later this week, with the first batch of users being selected from small-group chats. The selected users will need to submit their personal information, sign a Confidentiality Agreement, and obtain product access.

Of particular note, the image also explicitly warns: once there is a leak, not only will the individual be disqualified, but it will also affect the selection for various DeepSeek models, product testing, and collaboration opportunities in the future. If the information is accurate, the V4 official version and Harness will be announced shortly.

had previously reported that the DeepSeek V4 official version (V4 GA) may be postponed until mid-August. About 1 to 2 weeks after the conclusion of the Harness closed testing, V4 will be open for access, with the release expected between August 10th and 20th. If the information is accurate, DeepSeek V4's launch may face stronger competition. By then, next-generation models such as GPT-6, Claude Fable 5.1, and GLM-5.5 may have already entered the market.
