The White House Prompter Operator, suspected of insider trading on Kalshi, has been fired

July 29th, according to the Associated Press, White House teleprompter operator Gabriel Perez, who was suspended pending investigation for allegedly using his position to bet on the content of President Trump's speeches on the prediction market platform Kalshi, has now left the federal government and no longer holds a related position.

A White House official stated that Perez has "departed the federal government," but did not disclose whether he resigned voluntarily or was dismissed. Earlier, ABC News reported that Perez, using advance knowledge of Trump's speech content as insider information, made a profit of over $100,000 on the Kalshi prediction market, and was later suspended without pay pending investigation by the White House.

Previously, Kalshi stated that its monitoring team had proactively identified the related unusual transactions and initiated an investigation, which was later referred to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for handling. According to the platform's rules, users are not allowed to engage in prediction market trading using insider information obtained through their work duties.
