Bitminter Founder Moves 829 BTC from Long-dormant Address, Coin's Price Surges

July 30th, according to Emmett Gallic's monitoring, an address associated with Bitcoin early mining pool Bitminter's founder Geir Harald Hansen recently transferred 829 BTC, with some of the BTC being transferred on-chain for the first time since 8 years ago.

Public information shows that Bitminter, founded by Geir Harald Hansen, was one of the major early Bitcoin mining pools, occupying nearly 10% of the entire network's hashrate at its peak and accumulating about 208,232 BTC.
