July 31st, Decentralized AI Data Network Perceptron announced the completion of a $6.5 million strategic financing round. Participants included various Web3 investment firms, trading companies, ecosystem partners, and infrastructure companies, such as Sigma Capital, Selini Capital, QCP Capital, P2 Ventures, CoinDCX Ventures, Momentum6, DeFi Capital, Walrus Foundation, Aethir, Colosseum, GuruDev Capital, Tempo Finance, NewTribe Capital, Digital Consensus Fund, and CodeCraft Capital. This financing round will be used to launch Perceptron's data task platform, expand contributor tools and reward infrastructure, and drive the network towards its goal of 5 million nodes.

Perceptron aims to make the acquisition of real-world data fast and convenient, eliminating the need for AI companies to rely on centralized data scraping infrastructure. The network consolidates global data collection into a unified network composed of idle bandwidth, unique datasets, and domain expertise. Through this unified form, both individual contributors and AI companies can generate complete and validated datasets, reducing the time from data request to dataset delivery to a few days.

Perceptron sits between two models: one end being limited centralized data scraping tools and the other being closed data partnerships that most AI startups struggle to access. Perceptron provides AI companies and regular contributors with readily usable data. Through Perceptron, contributors own their data and earnings, which can be monetized or withdrawn at any time without relying on third parties. Perceptron focuses on continuous contribution and ongoing iteration rather than one-time data scraping.

In the near future, Perceptron will focus on launching its data task platform, with more announcements expected in the next quarter. In the long term, Perceptron is moving towards a fully integrated network with 5 million nodes, consolidating everything AI companies need onto a single platform to achieve seamless alignment between demand and supply.
