Lee Jae-myeong: AI Reshaping the Global Industrial Landscape, Korea Needs to Invest Boldly

August 4th - South Korean President Lee Jae-myung today stated that the AI-driven industrial transformation is reshaping the global industrial landscape, emphasizing that South Korea needs to take "bold" and "swift" investment actions to address this change.

Lee Jae-myung made the above remarks while attending the opening ceremony of a policy briefing meeting of the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and other government departments. Lee Jae-myung stated: "With the emergence of artificial intelligence, the world is undergoing a major transformation, and the industrial structure is being reshaped. At such a moment, what we need is bold decision-making, investment, and swift action." He also emphasized the importance of enhancing South Korea's competitiveness, pointing out that the government's responsibility is to identify trends, plan for the future, and lay the foundation for innovation.

Lee Jae-myung also added that ensuring a solid industrial growth potential and a robust energy security system is key to building a country that can withstand external environmental changes. The South Korean government should make unremitting efforts to achieve export market diversification and supply chain resilience.
