Analysis: Over 60% of the top 100 tokens by market capitalization have experienced a "death" within 5 years, with the expected mortality rate reaching 84.7% after 10 years.
August 5th, CryptoRank published an article stating that an analysis of 1,539 tokens that had once entered the Top 100 market capitalization in the crypto market found that 71.9% had been classified as "operationally dead."
The research defined "death" as: the token being delisted from major exchanges and maintaining a daily trading volume below $10,000 for more than 90 consecutive days. The data shows that about 62% of the Top 100 tokens will lose their activity within 5 years, with the projected death rate reaching 84.7% after 10 years. The median lifespan of a token is only 2 years and 4 months.
