Meta faces $1.4 trillion claim

August 10th, according to CCTV News, following two previous convictions and nearly $1 billion in settlements, Meta, the American metaverse platform company, will once again appear in federal court this week.

On August 12th, a lawsuit filed by four U.S. states will begin jury selection in the Oakland Federal Court, with prosecutors accusing Meta's social media platform of addictive design causing harm to minors and seeking $1.4 trillion in damages.
