August 13th, JPMorgan Chase plans to test real-time blockchain settlement for Japanese Government Bonds (JGB); meanwhile, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), one of Japan's largest banking groups, is also preparing to conduct a Proof of Concept (PoC) for JGB on-chain transactions through the Canton Network, exploring 24/7 real-time settlement to shorten the current traditional 1 to 3 day settlement period and enhance repo transaction efficiency.
