UBS significantly increased its holdings of the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF in the first half of the year, with holdings rising to approximately $90 million.
August 14th, according to the 13F filing submitted by UBS, as of June 30th, they held approximately 2.5 million shares of the BlackRock-owned Bitcoin spot ETF IBIT, with a position value of nearly $90 million. Compared to the year-end 2025 holding of about 549,000 shares, the number of shares held increased by approximately 355%, and the position value increased by about 230%.
It is important to note that the 13F filing does not indicate whether these IBIT shares belong to UBS's own funds or its clients' assets, so it cannot be simply understood as UBS directly investing $90 million to purchase Bitcoin.
