Iran Plot to Assassinate Trump? Israel Issued Multiple Warnings, CIA Says Intel Could Never Be Independently Verified

According to multiple current and former U.S. officials, over the past year, Israel has repeatedly warned U.S. intelligence agencies and the White House that Iran is plotting to assassinate Trump. The related warnings even involved specific methods such as snipers, assassins, and shoulder-fired missile attacks.

It is reported that the related warnings began in June 2025 on the eve of the Iran conflict and significantly increased earlier this year before the U.S. decided to take military action against Iran in February. In July of this year, Israel also warned that Iran might use shoulder-fired missiles to attack "Air Force One" while Trump was attending the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey. The U.S. subsequently took special security measures and transferred Trump to another plane.

However, several sources have stated that the CIA has never been able to independently verify the specific assassination intelligence provided by Israel through separate channels, and assessed it as "low confidence." Turkey also stated that its intelligence agencies did not find any evidence at the time to corroborate the related threats.

Nevertheless, the related intelligence still had an impact on the Trump administration's policy towards Iran. Sources said that when Trump decided to take military action against Iran in February of this year, the assassination warning provided by Israel was one of the decision-making references.

Currently, the U.S.-Iran tensions are further escalating into the economic sphere. U.S. Treasury Secretary Benett stated that a series of major measures against Iran will be announced next week, including further strengthening economic sanctions and continuing to implement military interceptions in the Strait of Hormuz to restrict the flow of goods to and from Iranian ports.
