Micron Launches $250 Million AI Investment Fund, Focusing on Model Architecture, Compute Power, and Physical AI
August 14th, Micron Technology (MU) announced the launch of the $250 million Micron Ventures Paradigm Fund, the largest fund to date by Micron Ventures. This fund will focus on the entire AI stack, covering areas such as model architecture, computational infrastructure, enterprise applications, and physical AI.
Micron stated that as AI advances from generative models to systems with inference, execution, and interaction with the physical world, the demands for computation, memory, and storage are changing. The new fund will concentrate on four main areas: AI model architecture and data infrastructure, memory computing and next-generation networking technologies, enterprise applications such as semiconductor design and manufacturing, and physical AI including robotics and new forms of terminals.
Prior to this, Micron Ventures had launched Fund I and Fund II in 2019 and 2022 respectively. With the addition of this $250 million new fund, Micron Ventures' total committed capital will increase to $550 million.
