DeFiLlama: Mobile Launch Delayed Due to Phishing App on App Store
August 16th, DeFiLlama founder 0xngmi stated that due to the long-standing presence of phishing apps impersonating DeFiLlama on the Apple App Store, the team had previously delayed the release of the official mobile app. The team will wait until all fake apps have been removed before releasing the official mobile app to reduce the risk of users falling victim to scams.
Yesterday, DeFiLlama founder 0xngmi said, "For several months, we have been trying to get the Apple App Store to take down a fake DeFiLlama app and have been continuously reporting trademark infringement and impersonation of the official app to Apple. Subsequently, we recharged a small wallet, downloaded the app, and as expected, all funds in the wallet were stolen. We then reported this situation to Apple. As a result, the app was taken down by Apple within a few days. We hope to inform other cryptocurrency companies of this information so they don't waste time like we did."
