SoftBank Invests $200 Million in Gravis Robotics to Enter the Construction Robotics Sector
August 17th, SoftBank has completed its largest-ever construction robotics Series A funding round, investing $2 billion in Gravis Robotics and valuing the company at around $10 billion post-investment.
Gravis Robotics is a construction robotics startup spun off in 2022 from ETH Zurich in Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich. The company focuses on providing AI-based autonomous conversion solutions for existing heavy earthmoving machinery such as excavators and loaders. Its core product, "Gravis Rack," is a rapidly deployable control kit that supports fully autonomous operation or AI-assisted driving. It is compatible with various brands of equipment such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, JCB, and Hitachi, claiming to improve operational efficiency by up to 30%.
