Breaking News: GitHub Experiences Major Outage, Web and API Traffic Error Rate at Around 20%

August 17th, GitHub has officially confirmed a widespread outage. Currently, the web portal and API are experiencing an error rate of about 20%; the error rate for repository Archive and Raw content downloads is close to 50%; performance degradation is seen in core services such as Actions, API, Pull Requests, Issues, Webhooks, among others. The officials are investigating.
