Step Fun launches 3,999 yuan AI agent phone: build an app with one sentence, and it can also integrate with Alipay for payments.

Beating AI News Flash: STEPX, a brand under StepFun, has officially launched the STEPX Neo Pioneer Edition, its first agent phone. It runs Step AOS 1.0 based on Android 16 and features a personal AI agent called Amoo, which can understand user needs and call on the phone and third-party services to complete tasks. For example, saying "Help me handle tomorrow's presentation" prompts Amoo to check Feishu calendar and group chats, and after obtaining authorization, modify the PPT and sync meeting changes. When arranging a business trip, it can also connect with Ctrip to check tickets and book hotels, and complete payment through Alipay.

StepFun said it has reached cooperation with nearly 100 companies or products, including Alipay, Tencent, Ctrip, Didi, and Meituan. The phone is equipped with a six-microphone array, an independent AI button, and a Mini LED dot-matrix display on the back, allowing one-touch wake-up of the agent and showing task status on the rear screen. The system also supports long-term memory, can record user habits and preferences, and handles complex tasks through collaboration between on-device and cloud models.

It also comes with a development tool called Step Studio, allowing users to generate AI apps, games, and Skills through natural language and then push them to the phone for use. Developers can also access hardware capabilities such as the camera, sensors, AI button, and rear screen. Creators have already demonstrated Skills that automatically organize video favorites and podcast content. STEPX also announced integration with Alipay Vibe Pay, enabling eligible creators to set up paid features for their own developed apps and receive payments.

The STEPX Neo is powered by a Snapdragon 8-series chip, offers a 16GB+256GB configuration, is priced at 3,999 yuan, and officially goes on sale on October 16. Purchasers will receive a model usage quota of 10 billion tokens per month for 12 consecutive months. The first 10,000 users who complete designated growth tasks can, within the next five years, use this phone to exchange for a new STEPX device for free.
