October 13: Goldman Sachs Group CEO David Solomon downplayed recent rumors of a potential leadership transition at the firm, calling them just "noise." Goldman Sachs Chief Operating Officer John Waldron has long been seen as a potential successor to Solomon.

Recent reports suggested that Solomon might step down as early as next year, bringing the timing of Goldman Sachs' leadership transition back into the market spotlight.

Speaking on Tuesday during an earnings call with analysts, Solomon said: "I want to be clear that Goldman Sachs currently has no ongoing succession transition plans, nor any related timeline. The board and I are fully focused on the company's growth strategy and continuing to deliver exceptional service to our clients." He added that he is satisfied with the company's progress, which has made him enjoy his current role even more.
