Beating AI News Flash: AI computing company Tenstorrent has completed a $1.5 billion Series E funding round, with participation from Tether Capital among others, valuing Tenstorrent at $6.2 billion.

Tenstorrent, led by chip architect Jim Keller, primarily develops high-performance AI processors, servers, and software, aiming to provide developers and enterprises with a more open AI computing infrastructure.

Tenstorrent plans to use the funding to expand production and deployment of its Galaxy server systems, advance AI and CPU technology R&D, and expand its global commercial business. Its technology has already served enterprises including Samsung and LG, with applications covering large language models, video generation, and other fields.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that AI should not rely on a handful of tech companies to provide computing power, and open computing infrastructure will help expand AI accessibility. This investment also continues Tether's positioning in the AI sector, with its open-source AI platform QVAC committed to enabling AI to run directly on user devices, reducing dependence on centralized cloud services.
