New proposal in NEAR community opens for voting, aiming to reduce annual token issuance rate to 1.6% within 24 months.

October 21: The NEAR governance platform House of Stake has opened voting on proposal HSP-029, which aims to gradually reduce the NEAR token annual issuance rate from the current 2.5% to 1.6% over the next 24 months, in order to reduce token dilution and improve the long-term token economic model. The voting deadline is November 2, 2026.
